Each one takes minutes, uses what you already own, and comes with the words to coach it kindly.

Game Sense

Give and Go Gate

Pass, sprint through the gate, get it back. The oldest trick in team sport.

10 min2 playersOutdoorYou’ll need: sticks, soft ball, two markers

Set a two-step-wide gate of cones. The child passes to you, sprints through the gate and receives the return on the far side. Add a slow-walking defender they must beat through the gate.

The parent cue. Pass and move, never pass and watch. The sprint starts the moment the ball leaves.

Heart & Mind

Brave Scoop

Ground balls are won by the player who runs through them. Practice being that player.

10 min2 playersOutdoorYou’ll need: lacrosse stick, soft ball

Roll the ball away from the child. They chase, drop the stick head low and scoop through the ball at a run, then cradle away. Cheer the charge, not just the pickup.

The parent cue. Through the ball, not at it. Hesitating is the only way to miss.

Physical & Movement

Cradle Walk

Walk, then jog, cradling the ball in the stick like an egg-and-spoon race.

10 minSoloOutdoorYou’ll need: lacrosse stick, soft ball

Ball in the pocket, curl the stick gently side to side while walking a lap of the yard. Speed up to a jog only when the ball stays quiet in the pocket.

The parent cue. The cradle is a rock-a-bye, not a shake. Soft wrists win.

Milestones worth celebrating

What progress looks like, stage by stage.

No leaderboards and no age-group percentiles. These are honest firsts parents tick when their child gets there, at their own pace.

FUNdamentals

  • First clean scoop. Charges a rolling ball and scoops through it without stopping.

Learn to Train

  • Gives and goes. Passes then sprints to space instead of standing to watch.
  • Fifty wall balls. Fifty catches against a wall in one visit, either hand.

Train to Train

  • Both hands brave. Uses the weaker hand in real games without being asked.

Why parents use HappyElite

Lacrosse is the start. The whole athlete is the goal.

Every week the app balances four kinds of growth: body, game sense, confidence and character. Activities match your child’s development stage, grounded in long-term athletic development research. A missed day is nothing. Progress is measured against your own child’s history, never a ranking.
