Each one takes minutes, uses what you already own, and comes with the words to coach it kindly.
Physical & Movement
Pizza and Fries
The classic speed game: "pizza" for the slow wedge, "fries" to let them run.
15 min2 playersOutdoorYou’ll need: skis or board, helmet, gentle slope
On the gentlest slope, the grown-up calls "pizza" (wedge or heel-edge, slow) and "fries" (straight, go). Mix the calls. On a board, call "toes" and "heels" instead.
The parent cue. The slow shape is the real skill. Cheer the stop harder than the speed.
Team & Character
Chairlift Buddy Check
Your child runs the safety check every lift: helmets, warmth, buddy in sight.
10 minSmall groupOutdoorYou’ll need: helmets
Before every lift ride, the child leads a thirty-second check: helmets clipped, fingers warm, everyone knows the meeting spot, nobody skis alone. They get the final "all set!" call for the group.
The parent cue. Mountains teach that looking after your group is part of the fun, not a chore.
Game Sense
Pick Your Line
Before the run, say the plan out loud: where you'll turn, where you'll slow, where it ends.
10 min2 playersOutdoorYou’ll need: skis or board, helmet
At the top of a familiar green run, the child points and narrates their line: first turn at the tree, slow zone at the flat, stop by the sign. Ski it, then compare the plan to what happened, no marks given.
The parent cue. Reading a hill is reading a game. The comparison chat on the lift is the coaching.
